| After breakfast, check out from hotel, standard check out 11am. Free time. Make you way to CORNER HAY & PIER ST by 1pm for your tour. You will enjoy an authentic farmstay in the Swan Valley, one of Perth’s original agricultural areas. Whilst in the district we visit a local fruit grower, a vineyard and experience native Australian animals. Traveling out of Perth we head to Western Australia’s finest agricultural region, the Swan Valley. Passing by the historical town of Guildford we visit a pottery store before wine tasting at the states oldest and best known vineyard, Sandalford Wines. Founded in 1840, today they offer an extensive cellar and wine emporium gift store featuring stunning wine accessories and artworks created by local artists. From here we have a close up experience with native Australian animals at Caversham Wildlife Park, where you have the opportunity to feed the kangaroos and take photo’s of adorable koalas. Around 4pm we arrive for our farmstay at Swan Valley Holiday Cottages. Later everyone can help feed the animals and collect the eggs before enjoying a barbeque dinner. Afterwards, enjoy a torchlite walk to the ‘Bush Camp’ where you can join in the fun of billy tea and story telling around an open fire. |
| This morning enjoy a hearty farm style breakfast. Afterwards, we feed animals (30 min). Following check-out at 10am you experience a horse drawn wagon ride to Edgecombes produce grower for fruit and wine tasting and in the harvest season try grape picking (fruits available all year Grapes Dec-Mar). After the wagon trail try Boomerang throwing or learn how to play the didgereedoo. Returning to the farm, you enjoy lunch (12.30pm) then learn of native plants on a guided 30 minute (500 metre) bushwalk with your farmstay host. Afterwards, you have free time to relax in the rural atmosphere. Walk around the farm, stroll through the small hobby orchard, enjoy the riverbank area, play some Supa Golf (own expense) whilst children use up some energy in the plyground or pool. Following afternoon tea at 2pm you are collected for the return trip to Perth with arrival at approximately 2.30pm. |
